February 11, 2015

We recently came across a good EPA video explaining Stage I vapor recovery. That’s the process of collected vapors during the delivery iof a UST delivery and returning those vapors back to the tanker truck for recycling.  It’s a tad wordy but worth sharing with folks who need a primer in Stage I rules.

New Feature for Wisconsin Class A/B UST Operators

January 7, 2015

Aviary coggno-com Picture 1Attention Wisconsin Class A/B UST Operators. Not exactly sure what type of UST system or equipment is at your site? We’ve added a new feature to our online training course: a link to a searchable online UST database.

So before before taking our training, make sure you download your facility specific information from the State of Wisconsin UST searchable UST database. That way you can apply the relevant information to your particular UST system and get the most out of your training.

We’re always looking for new ways to make the training more meaningful since nearly every UST site is different. So check out the link!

Note we’ve also updated the 2015 Wisconsin Compliance Calendar for Gasoline Dispensing Facilities. Download and print your copy today.

Small Measurements of Success

December 31, 2014

IMG_9574Class A/B UST operators play a critical role in maintaining compliance and public safety at a UST site. Since 2003 when I did my first class in Oregon I’ve dreamed of the day when the Class A/B operator certificate would be common enough that employers would ask for it as a prerequisite for a job. Yesterday I stumbled upon a job listing for a Michigan Class B operator: a small but important measurement of success.

Holiday hours at UST Training

December 22, 2014

hohologoEven UST elves need a little break!

We will be opened through the holidays, although operating with skeleton staff hours between Dec. 24th and Jan 1st . Regular hours will resume on Friday, Jan 2nd.

You probably won’t notice any difference in response. Support will be checking and processing tickets and all issues will be addressed within a-days cycle.

Fastest resolution will be via ticketing system, in order to catch the elves during their shifts.

Happy Happy Holidays!

The Historic Teapot Dome Service Station

December 21, 2014

IMG_9530I was driving back from eastern Oregon last week when I spied a sign on the interstate that said “Teapot Dome Service Station Historic site” at the Zillah, Washington exit and decided to investigate. Over the years I’ve seen pictures of a old time tea pot shaped service station and was thrilled when I drove though the sleepy wine country berg of Zillah to find that yes indeed, it was the very one.
