May 29, 2018

What's wrong with this product piping?

This was discovered at an active UST site that was having trouble passing a leak test.

  1. Joshua Cook says:

The pipe is patched with what looks like epoxy resin and hose clamps. Wonder if the client vetted the technicians that did this work at all.

    1. Ben Thomas says:

Wow. Our first comment in Spanish. Cool. Had to look up the translation:

The material of the pipe section, seen from the pipe material different existing glass fiber underground unions were also observed and are not suitable material for fiberglass, the condition of double containment is lost in this section and that section must be registrable as it is a change in direction of pipe.

      Muchas gracias Hector!

  3. It’s easier to say what’s right about it and that’s not much. It’s the wrong pipe, wrong connections, and you sure don’t use a radiator hose clamp to secure the connections!

  4. Larry Gregory says:

I can’t tell how many different pipes and fittings are patched together here. This is an unacceptable mess that should be replaced properly.
