Hello UST professionals and everyone who wants to make our industry better, safer and stronger. It’s both a humbled privilege and an honor to begin my second term on the Board of Directors of PEI (Petroleum Equipment Institute), representing the Affiliate Division. One of my goals over my next two-year term is to continue to share with our affiliate companies the many things PEI does for the petroleum storage tank universe.
I just got back from my first board meeting in Tulsa Oklahoma, and met the Board members and the amazing staff that make up the PEI team. There are so many new and ongoing initiatives underway at PEI these days it’s hard to keep track of them all. These include, but are not not limned to:
Manufacturing Advisory Council: The Manufacturers Advisory Council is comprised of members in PEI’s manufacturing division and explores additional services that would be beneficial to this segment of PEI’s membership.
Young Executives: PEI Young Executives strive to provide education, professional development, networking to the next generation of leaders in a petroleum and energy handling industry. YE professionals lead with dignity, integrity and perseverance while giving back to communities and those less fortunate.
Safety Committee: Through a partnership with its members, the PEI Safety Committee is the leading industry authority providing resources, guidance and recommendations to promote the safe installation, operation, maintenance, testing and removal of energy handling equipment.
Latin America Committee: El Comité Latinoamérica se centra en servir como enlace de América Latina y el Caribe con el PEI, para apoyar el crecimiento de la Asociación y de la Industria; es también parte del alcance del Comité, el secundar y promover el Programa de Embajadores para Latinoamérica.
Education Committee: The Education Committee recommends, prioritizes and advocates for relevant educational topics for PEI’s programming in alignment with the organization’s overall mission and strategy to develop leaders and ensure member companies and their employees can perform at the highest level today and in the future.
Executive Committee: The Executive Committee is established by the constitution and is composed of the chair, vice chair, immediate past chair and two members of the board of directors. The committee makes interim decisions on behalf of the board.
PEI Women’s Committee: The PEI Women’s Committee develops plans for the PEI Women program.
Strategic Long Range Plan: The Strategic Long Range Planning Committee is composed of the chair, vice chair, vice president of finance and the three immediate past chairs. It develops long range plans and objectives and serves as an advisory body to the PEI Board of Directors. This committee also serves as the PEI Investment Committee.
