Oregon to Amend UST Rules

May 23, 2016

oregon-deq-hillsboroDEQ will be proposing rule amendments to the Environmental Quality Commission.

Oregon operates an underground storage tank regulation program under the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s approval. EPA revised their rules effective in 2015 and Oregon must align its rules with the EPA revisions. The current rulemaking will bring Oregon’s rules into compliance with the federal rules and will raise the annual UST permit fee. DEQ is convening an advisory committee to inform this rulemaking.

DEQ has appointed an advisory committee to review issues related to the proposed rules. The next committee meeting will take place:

9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m
Tuesday, May 31, 2016
DEQ Headquarters, 811 SW 6th Ave., Portland, Oregon
10th Floor, Room EQC A

The public may attend, but is not entitled to participate in, advisory committee meetings. Later in this rulemaking proceeding DEQ will invite public comments on, and will hold a public hearing about, the proposed rules. At that time any member of the public may submit comments and participate in the public hearing.
