Hi, this is Ben Thomas with UST training, and this is a tank savvy minute. Let’s say you’re a brand-new operator and someone comes up and says, how many tanks do you have? What products in each tank? How big are the tanks and you’re not sure. A little trick here, go to the tank gauge. If it says all functions normal hit the print button and this is going to give us a printout of some basic inventory information. A couple things you notice right off the bat here there’s an unleaded T1 tank T2 is super T3 is plus T4 is Diesel and T5 here is biodiesel you can see some really important information here there is 6,720 gallons of product, there is 8,302 gallons of ullage that means empty space in the tank. There is no water in the tank and the fuel is 59.6 degrees Fahrenheit. So, this gives us some really important information here if we want to figure out how big the tank is we want to add the volume and the ullage this looks to be about a 15,000-gallon tank. So again, if you can hit the print button and pull it out and take a look at it you can get basic inventory information about your UST system.
