ATG Veeder-Root TLS-350 Volume & Ullage

November 11, 2011

Hi, this is Ben Thomas with UST training, and this is a tank savvy minute. Ever wonder about how to know if you’re ordering enough fuel so as to not overfill the tank. I’ll give you a little trick here today we’re, at a tank monitor the Veeder-Root TLS-350 it says all functions normal. I’m going to hit the print button, the print button as you remember from a previous lesson shows us how much fuel is in each tank what is important to note here is that this particular tank T1 has 6,720 gallons of product but 8,320 gallons of ullage is the empty airspace in the tank however the next number is the number that you want to order. 90% ullage is only 6,817 gallons if you ordered that much fuel, you’d only fill the tank to its 90% capacity. 90% ullage is the amount you order to safely fill the tank and not overfill it. This is Ben Thomas with UST training this has been a tank savvy minute.
