Attention Gas Station Customers: Be Patient, Be Safe, Be Kind

March 23, 2020

Hi, this is Ben Thomas with UST training, and this is a special tank savvy minute edition about the corona virus and UST or underground storage tank systems. Typically, USTs are found at gas stations and service stations and convenience stores today I want to make a special talk not to the owners and operators of these sites but you the consumer people who buy fuel at a gas station or convenience store. I want to I make a special plea to say please be patient, please be careful please be kind. What’s happening now there’s being a lot of concern about whether or not gas stations are going to remain open. Yes, they are going to remain open however things going to be a little bit different you’ll probably see clerks and cashiers wearing rubber gloves and hopefully using wipes to be able to clean all services. The local gas station owners and operators I’ve talked to are going to great lengths to clean doorknobs and surface counters and also equipment at the dispenser and so also in particular if you see a an orange cone out there and there’s a contractor out there the big white truck and they’ve got things kind of cordoned off, know they are trying to fix the pumps and dispensers to make sure that you can buy gas and diesel safely. So, please if you see a contractor truck out there give them some space if you’re buying gas and are talking to a clerk and cashier at a gas station be patient give them a little extra time. Go slow at the pumps make sure you’re being the best citizen you can be in buying gasoline and we’ll all get through this okay. This is Ben Thomas with UST training this has been a special edition of the tank savvy minute.
