Cleaning High-Touch Areas at the Pump

March 23, 2020

Hi, this is Ben Thomas with UST training, and this is a special tank savvy minute regarding UST systems and the coronavirus. If you’re wondering what to do to keep your gas station counters and dispensers and fueling areas clean and safe and hygienic during these times of concern, I just discovered today on NACS National Association Convenience Store, they published a great article “cleaning high touch surfaces at the pump”. This is a great publication I’m going to talk a little bit about it. The company CAF has published a great little handout I encourage you to download it. Outdoor surface cleaning and disinfecting guidelines it talks about the cleaning and disinfecting stages, and it also talks about where in particular to make sure your areas are clean at the dispenser area. In addition to that they’ve also provided a complimentary clean and disinfectant hourly checklist and so it looks like there’s an industry recommendation to at least be cleaning our service areas hourly to make sure that equipment that comes in contact with the public is in fact clean and safe. So, great information here check back at our webpage for more information about being safe at the pump. This is Ben Thomas with the UST training this has been a tank savvy minute special edition on the coronavirus.
