Dispenser Filters

September 22, 2014

Hi, this is Ben Thomas with UST training, and this is a tank savvy minute. Today we’re going to talk about dispenser filters. The filter is a device right here that captures debris, gunk and water, stuff you don’t want in the customer’s tank. What happens is as the fuel is coming up from the underground storage tank it runs through the filter before it goes through the nozzle tip in into the customer’s car. This filter is actually set certified for ethanol. It’s a 10-micron filter which is a very fine filter meant to capture any sort of water and really fine particulates that would otherwise mess up the customer’s car. This particular one was put in today 9/12/14 and there is a stamp on here, this company’s policy is to change the filter at least annually. Filters are a very important part of the fuel quality of the system to make sure your customers keep coming back. This is Ben Thomas with UST training, and this is a tank savvy minute with filters.
