Attention Oregon UST owners and operators. By October 1, 2020, all UST systems in the state must have completed a number of periodic tests and inspections.
These include:
- 30 day walkthrough inspection
- Annual visual sump inspection
- Annual release detection function test
- 3-year sump tightness test
- 3-year spill bucket tightness test
- 3-year overfill device function test
Completing all these important tasks can and will take considerable amount of time and effort.
A few things to consider:
- Everyone usually waits until the last minute; the sooner you start the better.
- High failure rate is common, especially leaky sumps and spill buckets.
- There may not be enough replacement parts and licensed contractors by late summer.
- Start doing the 30 day walkthrough inspections now to become familiar with the process.
