Hi, this is Ben Thomas with UST training, and this is a tank savvy minute. Today we’re going to talk about biodiesel. This particular site sells biodiesel B20. That means 20% biodiesel, natural vegetable, French fry type compound. The rest of the 80% is regular hydrocarbon petroleum grade diesel. Now certain underground storage tanks with a high amount of biodiesel need to verify that their state agency that all the parts and pieces of the tank system and the dispenser system are in fact compatible with the fuel. However, that only goes up to any amount over B20, so this is up to B20 biodiesel. You do not have to report compatibility to your state agency. It’s a good idea to know. You should probably talk your petroleum contract to make sure your equipment is back compatible with any method of biodiesel. Anything rated B20, you must notify that to your state agency.
