UST Training creates custom course for Pepsi

February 28, 2014

_R014479UST Training recently wrapped up production of two online training courses for Pepsi Bottling Company: one on safely filling Pepsi vehicles and one for inspecting Pepsi USTs. Pepsi has a company-wide policy called the Zero Zone, which mean zero spills, zero accidents, zero environmental incidents. So the company UST standards go well beyond what states typically require. The courses are not Class A/B or Class C training per se but are meant to compliment and expand existing training requirements. Employees can log in and view the courses on the company’s intranet.

Colorado Class A/B Self-Paced Course Now Approved

February 25, 2014

Aviary coggno-com Picture 1UST Training is pleased to announce our Self-Paced Class A/B course in Colorado is now approved and available online. Since 2009, we have offered the course via webinar with the live instructor, Ben Thomas, guiding the class though the material. And we’ve trained a large percentage of Colorado operators that way. The benefit of the webinar for students has been the live interactive feature; the challenge has been carving out the better part of a day to sit through an online class about tanks.

When we wanted to make the jump from live-online to self-paced online, the State of Colorado was concerned that Class A/B operators wouldn’t have the tools to adequately understand what rules applies at each user’s site since every UST system can be different. The compromise was that we at UST Training will be providing a free, after class phone interview so we can help you determine what type of UST system you have and thus know what parts of the training are more relevant to you. The interview is in fact now required. But the phone call is free plus you have the benefit of getting free advice from our senior UST experts. So check it out!

Buy the course here and feel free to contact us with questions about this new training requirement at 866-301-8265 or [email protected].

Correction: Colorado Class A/B Training not suspended

January 23, 2014

In our last newsletter we stated that the State of Colorado has suspended Class A/B training pending the outcome of an investigation. This is incorrect. The Colorado OPS is investigating whether to allow self-paced, online training in Colorado because of concerns they have about operators not understanding rules as they apply to their particular sites. We at UST Training were under the impression that the site-specific issue was across the board and affected live classroom, live-webinar and self-paced options as well. We apologize for the misunderstanding that resulted in a number of calls to the Colorado OPS. We’re hoping to automate our Colorado Class A/B course by offering a self-paced version (with interactive, site-specific features) so we’ll update you as soon as we know something. Again, sorry for the confusion. Any concerns please contact Ben Thomas by phone at 866-301-8265 or by email.
