Tank Savvy Minute: Petrotite Line Leak Testing

January 5, 2013

Hi, this is Ben Thomas with UST training this is a tank savvy minute. We’re here at the PEI trade show in Las Vegas learning about parts and piece of equipment. We’re here to talk to Ryan about the testing of a leak detector. Ryan, can you tell us a little about this testing place. This is the Petrotite line tester, line leak detector tester rather, it’s a fully self-contained unit runs a hyperstatic line test using a simple pressure regulator we are able to connect in line with an impact valve to produce a three gallon per hour leak. Now the way we achieve that is we reduce line pressure coming into our unit to 10 psi. we use our black valve here to control the flow rate we achieve 189 milliliters in 60 seconds which is a three gallon per hour problem. Great! Ryan thank you very much. Thank you, Ben. This is Ben thomas and Ryan reporting from UST training, this has been a tank savvy minute.
