Hi, this is Ben Thomas with UST training, and this is a special edition of the tank savvy minute talking about the corona virus and UST management. It’s important that you as a Class A B and C operator are maintaining your tanks in a safe and proper way. Still everyday you should be checking your automatic tank gauge, and you should responding to alarms and you should also be doing a walkthrough inspection to make sure your tank pads are in good shape and your spill buckets are clean. If you’re a Class A B operator then you should be doing your monthly walk-through inspections those are required by law and you must be making sure that your leak detection records are in order, your tests are being done and probably most importantly if you have a suspected release that you call someone and check it out. If you’ve taken our Class A B operator training course before you can refer to your study guide and in the back of the book here, we do have a daily walkthrough inspection form and so if you’re looking for ways to keep safe and smart during these uncertain times do your daily walkthrough inspection. In particular pay attention to that automatic tank gauge alarm and make sure it is not in alarm and if so, you need to call someone. Likewise, there is a monthly walkthrough inspection form. The form can vary from state to state however refer to your study guide. At a minimum every 30 days you need to be doing a periodic walkthrough to make sure your system is in compliance while your leak detection records are in order and importantly if there is a suspected release you call it in. So basically, keep on doing what you’re doing, it’s going to be a little bit frustrating with a short staff and all the uncertainty that’s out there but please stay in compliance and while you’re doing so be safe be smart be savvy. This is Ben thomas with UST training this has been a tank savvy minute.
