The Washington Department of Ecology recently re-approved our Class A/B UST Operator Training course. We’ve updated the content to reflect all the new rule changes. Check it out!

What makes training worth it? How do UST operators choose the best option? Assuming not all training is equal, there are a number of ways to measure the value of training. Is it low cost? The least time spent? The most simple to get through? Or something less tangible?

How do you measure the value of something like UST operator training?

Based on our research, our intuition, and what we actually do, here’s how we measure training value. (Special thanks to the Kirkpatrick Model). Notice #1 is most important and #5, interestingly, is least.

Look no further: Our friends at Source have announced the grand opening of their state-of-the-art live training center, located in Arlington, Texas. According to their press release: “The training center includes a replica fuel site that allows visitors to explore fueling infrastructure that most people don’t have the opportunity to see up-close.

Here’s an example of what happens when UST regulations are ignored. Two California businessman accused of violating multiple UST requirements have been conditionally banned from owning or operating gas stations in California and are on the hook with other defendants for up to $4.25 million in fines and fees, following a multi-year investigation by the State Water Resources Control Board.
